Pepsi Takes Down Controversial Kendall Jenner Ad And Issues Apology

The controversial advert by popular drink brand, PEPSI which got the internet buzzing has been taken down.

The new advert featuring reality TV star Kendall Jenner, sparked outrage after it was seen as making light of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Pepsi’s Live for Now Moments video released yesterday (on the date of Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination) shows Jenner in a platinum wig on a photoshoot when protesters dance by.

‘She rips off her wig, smears away her lipstick and joins them, eventually handing an officer on the demonstration line a can of Pepsi.

He gulps some down, and then grins as Jenner and her friends cheer with delight.’

After it received major criticism, Pepsi apologised, saying it had “missed the mark”. In its statement, Pepsi also apologised to Jenner:

Disgraceful taking an add down because black lives matter doesn’t agree with it. I don’t agree with black lives matter excluding red lives or yellow lives or white lives from their slogan but their not forced to change it to appease the general population they shouldn’t force companies to change their views because it doesn’t align with theirs
