Boxing trainer, cut man and hand wrapper, Rafael Garcia, who later became one of boxing’s most beloved figures has died at the age of 88.
Garcia is best known for working with Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the two have trained together for nearly 20 years.
Garcia died at the age of 88, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was a native of Mexico and he spent more than 7 decades in the sports sector. Known for his big grin and selfless, caring nature, Garcia worked with a lot of superstars including Roberto Duran, Alexis Arguello, Wilfredo Gomez.
As sad as he could be, Mayweather wrote, ‘RIP Grand dad. I will always love you’.
He will truly be miss.
